Dolce Gusto – Nescafe Dolce Gusto
Hot Beverages Machines Tagged capsule system, coffee machines, Coffee Makers, Dolce Gusto, hot beverage drinks, krups, NescafeDolce Gusto is Nestle / Nespresso / Nescafe’s answer to the Tassimo system and is a hot beverage system with its own unique coffee machine and capsules that produce hot beverages like espresso, cappuccino, latte and hot chocolate. The machine for the system is the Krups Nescafe Dolce Gusto. The capsules are made by Nescafe with a variety of flavors, including milk based beverages. You can find the capsules at major stores or get them online.
The machine works in a similar way to Nespresso machines using thermoblock. However, unlike the 19 bar pressure used in Nespresso machines, in the Krups machine 15 bar is used. The high pressure and the capsules are designed to deliver an even distribution of water and pressure over the coffee to ensure that flavor is maximized. For comparison, in traditional filter coffee makers (drip machines) water flows through the coffee grounds at just 1 bar of pressure.
Warranty is given by Krups for two years.
Technical Specification
- High 15 bar pressure
- Free starter pack including Latte Macchiato glass, Cappuccino cup with saucer and more
- Ultra fast warm up, coffee in minutes
- 1.3 L removable water tank for easy cleaning, filling and emptying

hi, just bought the nescaffe gusto gusto, its really great.but i thing, how many coffees do i get from 1 pod?
many thanks terry

Hi Terry,
Each pod/capsule is intended to prepare one cup of hot beverage.
For milk based beverages you need another capsule that contains the milk powder, so you would actually use 2 capsules to prepare a single cup.
Enjoy!!

Can the Nespresso pods/capsules be used in the Gusto machine?

Hi Sharah,
Unfortunately the Dolce Gusto is a separate system, and has its own capsules. Nespresso capsules are to be used only with Nespresso machines.

Hi, just bought my dolce gusto machine and used a couple of times. My issue is that the temperature of the drinks it produces is not very hot. Is there anyway of making the drinks warmer?
Thanks

Dolce Gusto’s website suggests: Do not use refrigerated water as this might impact the temperature of the beverage. Also if necessary, descale the machine following the System Manual instructions.
Those are your options…
Enjoy!

I too have a problem with the temperature, as soon as it is poured into the cup itis lukewarm and I can down it in one… no time to converse with anyone as it would go cold, descaling a new machine shouldn’t be necessary to get it hotter. One thing I did notice is the green power light flashes rather than stays on.. is that normal? Perhaps I should put hot water in the resevoir.. but that’d be no good if i want an ice coffee. Nice coffee but could be way hotter, if i was in a restuarant i’d send it back.

I would definitely contact them regarding the issue…

Without measuring the amounts how do you know when the milk/coffee has done? There seems to be no timer on the machine to tell it when to stop.
