Nespresso Pixie Review – Magimix vs. Krups

The Nespresso Pixie is the newest and fastest yet espresso machine for the Nespresso capsule system. Nespresso machines use specific capsules produced by Nespresso (See Nespresso capsules range) to make espressos and other coffee drinks. This machine takes only 25 seconds to heat up, in order to make you the perfect espresso (40ml) or lungo (110ml). The two coffee buttons are already programmed to give you the perfect dosage for your choice of beverage.

It has a used capsule container that can hold 9-11 used capsules, so you don’t need to cleanup after every use, and a 0.7 liter water tank. This coffee machine also has a foldable cup support to allow usage of both tall latte glasses and short espresso cups. The Nespresso Pixie is not made directly for making cappuccinos as it doesn’t have a built-in milk frother, but you may purchase this machine bundled with the newest generation Nespresso Aeroccino 3 to make the perfect cappuccino!

If you’re familiar with Nespresso’s line of coffee machines, you may very well know that in Europe most of them are sold for Nespresso by both Krups and Magimix and are slightly different. An example can be seen in several of my posts, including the one for the very popular Nespresso CitiZ coffee machine. The main difference between the Krups and Magimix models is how the coffee outlet looks. You’ll see it clearly in the photos below.

As you can see the coffee outlet has a kind of a pointing down hose like shape. However, as you can see below in Pixie’s case, the Magimix and Krups models have totally different colors as well:

Tassimo Bosch TAS2001 Review

Today I’d like to give you details about this hot beverage drink machine. It’s the Bosch Tassimo TAS4011GB Multi-Beverage Machine, and you can figure out that it uses the Tassimo capsule system. If you haven’t heard of the Tassimo capsule system, you are welcome to read about it first here.

Bosch Tassimo TAS2001

This machine will make you a cup of espresso, cappuccino, latte, hot chocolate, tea or even more hot beverages at a push of a button. The Tassimo system includes special T-DISCs (capsules) with barcodes, which are read by the machine to set the correct water temperature, pressure and brew time for each drink. One of the cool things about the T-DISCs is that they come in known flavors such as Milka chocolate, Starbucks coffee or Twinings tea. For the milk based flavor, you will have to combine two T-DISCs (for example, a chocolate capsule, and a milk capsule).

You can adjust the height of the cup stand for small espressos or tall lattes, and also manually set the strength of the drink. I really like this machine because it is very competitive price wise, and you get to pick from a large set of flavors for your drink, and not only coffee. It is also easy to find the T-DISCs from major Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Morrsions, Somerfield and Boots stores, or you can find them online at the Tassimo online store as well.

I wouldn’t say this is the machine for someone who is looking for an espresso only machine, but if you want to prepare different drinks, and you are on a tight budget, this is definitely a good option to consider.

The new Nespresso Citiz machines – Krups XN 7006 and Magimix M190 are slim coffee machines, perfect for making espressos or lungos at your own home or office room, with little hassle.

I want to tell you about this cool milk frothing device, which works great with any espresso machine you have, especially if it doesn’t have a milk frothing or steaming option. Even if it does you may wanna use this machine instead. I am talking about the Nespresso Aeroccino Milk Frother. It is an automatic device to which you pour your milk, whether it’s hot or cold, and get milk froth after about a minute.
